FAQs

01.
What is the level of environmental commitment of Tarimatec?

All Tarimatec products and its components are 100% recyclable. In addition, the composition of all the profiles includes a certain percentage of plant fibres which do not come from logging, but from recovered rice shells. This, apart from reducing CO2 emissions derived from burning rice shells, reduces the carbon footprint of our profiles.

02.
Is Tarimatec Deck a safe pavement to avoid slipping?

In all of its three finishes, Tarimatec Deck obtains the best results in terms of slip resistance, even when the floor is wet. This makes walking on a Tarimatec floor, apart from a nice experience, completely safe, and it is specially indicated and certified to be placed in outdoor public areas with high traffic. Tarimatec Deck meets Class 3 – Sliding requirements according to the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE).

03.
Is it normal to have slight colour variations between profiles or between batches of profiles within the same colour reference?

Plant fibres present in the composition of the Tarimatec profiles, within its characteristic colour, may display some slight variations in shade. This gives the Tarimatec profiles a warm and natural look,
and there may be slight shade variations within each reference colour that are completely normal. As for slight shade variations between batches, apart from those caused by the plant fibres, it is noteworthy to mention that the pigments used in profile manufacture might experience slight shade variations as well, but always within certain tolerance levels
for each of them. This may cause different batches of profiles to showcase slightly different shades within the same colour reference.

04.
Do Tarimatec profiles get discoloured?

After Tarimatec is installed, a slight discolouration is expected, but it will stabilise with time, and represents a minimum colour loss. Punctual and adequate cleaning with a hydro-cleaner can help restore the original deck colour. See cleaning instructions.

05.
Can Tarimatec profiles experience size variations?

Size variations of the boards (expansion and contraction) are normal, and are expected and managed. They are mainly produced due to the temperature changes outdoor profiles experience. This does not cause any problem provided that the Tarimatec Installation Manual is followed.

06.
What happens at the end of Tarimatec useful life?

First of all, it should be noted that Tarimatec is a product designed to be enjoyed for many years, and is therefore very durable. On the other hand, it is important to know that it is 100% recyclable, and can be used as raw material for the manufacture of new profiles without affecting their quality. See the details in our Environmental Product Declarations.

07.
Is Tarimatec weather-resistant?

Tarimatec is formulated to be a highly weather-resistant product. It resists the sudden and natural temperature variations that can occur outdoors, has minimum water absorption and good performance against impacts. Regarding resistance to biological agents, it has an excellent performance, since it cannot be attacked by termites, fungi or basidiomycetes.

08.
Does Tarimatec require maintenance?

No. However, even though Tarimatec does not need any type of maintenance to prevent degradation, breakage or worsening of physical properties in a noticeable way, it should be cleaned periodically to preserve an optimal appearance. See Tarimatec cleaning instructions.

09.
Is Tarimatec resistant to chlorine?

Yes, it is resistant to the chlorine used on swimming pools.

10.
Can I install Tarimatec on my own?

Although the installation of Tarimatec is usually simple (provided that the assembly instructions from the Technical Manual are followed), it requires a series of tools to guarantee optimal installation. If you do not have access to an accredited installer, we recommend that you explore our network of installers or approved distributors. If you decide to do it yourself, get hold of the necessary tools and follow the assembly instructions from Tarimatec Technical Manual accurately. We remind you that the Tarimatec warranty only covers manufacturing defects in the product, and therefore DOES NOT cover installation or the damages caused during assembly.
